Social Mission

We are a Recruitment Business
With a Difference

We are part of the 1st for Pets group which includes our sister business VetFinders.  When our current customer base asked if we could help them source specific roles in the Animal Health Sector, it made sense to set up an entirely new division so we could service  their needs and focus on this  sector 100%.

Our professional team of recruiters  have over 30 years’ recruitment experience between them, with the market knowledge to help clients source those ‘hard to find’ candidates.    We supply contract, permanent and temporary staff working closely with our clients and candidates to carefully match both party’s requirements.

We are a socially driven business and want to make a difference.  We recognise that business isn’t just about making a profit, it’s about a balance between financial goals and social objectives.  We want to  help and give back to charities active in this sector.  We have recently partnered with the RDA, ( Riding for the Disabled Association ) where every time we place  a candidate in a new role we donate  enough money to pay for a disabled child to live their dream and ride a horse for the day.

Meet the

Chris Worthington

Managing Director

I have been in recruitment for the last 18 years setting up an Engineering and Industrial agency in 2004 and building it to a significant business before selling it a few years ago. As a very customer service orientated individual, I felt there was a lot we could do to improve the offering most local businesses were receiving from their current agency.

Qualtech was known for ‘going above and beyond’ the service levels expected working with clients our competitors were envious of. Due to our reputation, we never lost business due to poor service, we had clients stay with us from 2004 which is unheard of in Industrial recruitment. I am bringing the exact same philosophy to VF Recruitment, plus along with its sister business VetFinders we are socially driven and work with the RDA ( Riding for the Disabled Association ) donating and helping in any way we can.

I feel we are more than a recruitment agency, we are a business with a mission and purpose at its heart to help and give back. Our success will be measured by the amount we give back not by the profits we make.

Lucy Emberton-Leveson

Recruitment Consultant

After Graduating in 2005, from Liverpool John Moores University, I started working in the television industry, then into Advertising Sales before finally finding my calling – my first role in recruitment. I never dreamed of a job in recruitment but fell head over heels for the job and a career has blossomed ever since.

Although new to the veterinary industry, I come with 13 years of multi sector recruitment experience, from shop floor to management level recruitment. A seasoned recruiter with a passion for ensuring people find their perfect role, whilst ensuring client satisfaction is matched and delivered.

My focus has and always will be the open and honest communication I have with candidates and clients alike. The important thing is listening to what people want, matching that perfectly and creating an opportunity to make people feel positive and happy about the next step in their career.

I joined VetFinders, as they are a recruitment agency with a difference. The mission is simple, the more people we place, the more money we will give to animal charities, worthy causes close to our hearts.

Martin Wilson

Recruitment Consultant

After completing my 22 years Army Colour Service, I was offered a 3 years’ service extension in Army Recruitment. During this time, I gained the Certificate in Recruitment Practice. I have worked in the Health and Industrial sectors but enjoy working dealing with the Veterinary and Animal Health the most.

My focus is providing the best service possible for both candidates and clients. Having over 15 years in recruitment, I feel I have an excellent understanding of the recruitment process and can offer significant value to both parties.

Mission driven, socially led businesses are rare in recruitment but  VetFinders and now VF Recruitment are trying to change things.  Their mission is simple, the more candidates we place the money we donate to charity. Our success will be measured by the amount we give, not by what we make.

Suzy Buttress

Social Media Guru

After graduating in Graphic Design I have spent the last 20+ years working in the graphics/marketing industry. The last 7 years I spent working for a large corporate retailer specialising in home brand packaging.

Looking for a bit of a change – six months ago I became a fundraiser/marketeer for an equine charity plus work with VF Recruitment helping them generate social media content and grow the brand. I am passionate about animals owning a Yorkshire Terrier called Mille and 2 horses, spending any spare time I have riding them in the Yorkshire Dales.

Anna Worthington

I am a  passionate animal lover and  run the  back office operation, including accounting, invoicing and processing payroll. I have more than 20 years’ experience working in accounting.

I am married to the Managing Director Chris Worthington and  have two sons aged 14 and 12, along with two cats, Bobby and Penny.

When I am not working, I spend a lot of  time taking my boys to various sport clubs where they enjoy Football and Cricket.  Any spare time after that I go to the gym and enjoy socialising with friends and family.

Its great working for a business that genuinely wants to give back and make a difference.

Wendy Sweeney

I have worked in recruitment for almost 9 years. My last role was working on-site to support a major high street bank, managing their end-to-end recruitment process. It was a fulfilling role that was highly demanding, fast-paced, and in a challenging environment. My ability to be proactive and an avid planner, as well as reactive to my clients’ needs, proved to be invaluable.

Before working solely on a client site, I spent 7 years, office-based recruiting for a variety of clients helping with their office, administration, and HR needs, hygiene, warehousing, and retail.

My ethos is that I am open and honest with all my candidates and clients. I take the time to ensure I know exactly what they need and want, putting myself to work out in their teams, whether this is in an office or call centre-based role or putting the hard hat on and getting in the warehouse or factory. I have taken the time to really understand their business and what is required to make them successful.

What our
Candidates Say

I’ve been treated excellently by Jemma, which helped me find a job with the right fit for my requirements, which weren’t the easiest. Jemma made the process very smooth, easy and quick. So amazing job. Definitely going to call her if I will ever need to find another job in the veterinary field. 100%
