The Operations Manager will:

Oversee the warehousing operations and transport functions.
Be capable of solving complex challenges and leading the team through change.
Provide regular progress updates to Managing Director.
Responsible for H&S for Operations functions.
The Successful Applicant
You must be an animal lover!
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in leading a manufacturing operation within FMCG or related sector. Experience of supply chains is a must!
You will have a qualification in lean or six-sigma having delivered improvements in manufacturing efficiency.
The Operations Manager will be commercially strong, having been responsible for manufacturing and / or supply chain budget relating to labour and materials.
Experience of implementing / maintaining ERP System as well as staff management experience.
Awareness of Food Standards.
Hold a Recognised H&S qualification.

The role includes:
You will be making my clients products by being an owner of an extrusion line, it’s a fast-moving manufacturing environment so you must be comfortable with working in a dynamic and often high-pressure environment. It can also get very hot which can be uncomfortable at times.
As part of running an extrusion line you will need to respond to machine stoppages, identify and correct issues where possible or escalate to the engineering team if required.
You will perform various checks and be responsible for all products being produced to the highest level of quality. Pets count on us giving them the best quality food.
My clients are very keen on minimising waste of raw materials, products, packaging, chemicals and water. Everyone has a responsibility to keep this to a minimum.
Produce various different products so you will need to learn how to set up our machinery to run different products to the highest quality. This will include setting up different dies, cleaning down machinery during a change over and analysing problems that may occur during production.
All finished products need to be labelled correctly to help the packing department pack the finished product.
When you join, you will go through our structured induction and training programme, your training will continue as you progress in the role.
You will be provided with training and information on the regulations of Food Safety legislation amongst other things to help you in your role.
As your skill set grows, you will have an opportunity to increase your salary.
In addition to the above, you may need to operate a forklift truck, if this is the case all the training will be provided.
