The role includes:

  • You will be making my clients products by being an owner of an extrusion line, it’s a fast-moving manufacturing environment so you must be comfortable with working in a dynamic and often high-pressure environment. It can also get very hot which can be uncomfortable at times.
  • As part of running an extrusion line you will need to respond to machine stoppages, identify and correct issues where possible or escalate to the engineering team if required.
  • You will perform various checks and be responsible for all products being produced to the highest level of quality. Pets count on us giving them the best quality food.
  • My clients are very keen on minimising waste of raw materials, products, packaging, chemicals and water. Everyone has a responsibility to keep this to a minimum.
  • Produce various different products so you will need to learn how to set up our machinery to run different products to the highest quality. This will include setting up different dies, cleaning down machinery during a change over and analysing problems that may occur during production.
  • All finished products need to be labelled correctly to help the packing department pack the finished product.
  • When you join, you will go through our structured induction and training programme, your training will continue as you progress in the role.
  • You will be provided with training and information on the regulations of Food Safety legislation amongst other things to help you in your role.
  • As your skill set grows, you will have an opportunity to increase your salary.
  • In addition to the above, you may need to operate a forklift truck, if this is the case all the training will be provided.

  • Require inquisitive people who really enjoy problem solving, getting to the root cause of problems.
  • You will need to have good organisational skills; you will need this to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • You should have a basic understanding of English and Maths.
  • It’s great if you have previous production or factory experience, but we will also consider people with different work experience as long as you are committed and have a desire to work in manufacturing.
  • You must be comfortable with working rotational shift patterns

After your initial probation the salary increases to £10.22 per hour (£21,257 per annum) This role offers great opportunities for career progression

  • You will be responsible for ensuring that the highest level of quality is maintained throughout the production process and warehouse, through compliance with relevant Food Safety legislation, standards and requirements.
  • You will be picking, packing and shipping orders to standards to ensure that efficient service is delivered.
  • You will ensure efficient stock rotation and maintenance of hygiene standards and general manufacturing practices.
  • You will complete daily, weekly and monthly stock checks and rotation practices as and when required.
  • You will display correct manual handling of products and parcels.
