Farm Nutritionist

Job Type: Farm Nutritionist

Salary: £22,000 – £45,000 depending upon experience Plus excellent company benefits!

Hours: 40 hours pw.

Job ref: 2308

Here at VF Recruitment, we are helping our clients, a leading supplier of minerals and chemicals across the UK, find their next hire. They are a family-owned organisation supplying essential farm products, including animal feed to farmers throughout the UK.

They pride themselves on providing consumers with quality and service which is second to none.

They support their livestock farmers with their processes, by offering solutions, consisting of feed, advice and management tools.

Each week the company produces up to 3000 tonnes of animal feeds.

Their feeds are based on a blend of traditional raw materials and modern technology, resulting in the best possible quality and value for money.

The animal feed mill uses cereals and fresh wheat feed products, together with quality protein sources such as rape meal and soya bean meal. Almost half the raw materials used in the animal feed mill comes from nearby mills, reducing the need for road transport and minimising the carbon footprint of the products.

Quality control is one of the most important functions within my client’s animal feed mill. Samples of raw materials and finished products are tested by trained technicians in the onsite laboratory to ensure that all feeds meet the strict quality criteria.

All the feeds manufactured at the mills are vegetarian. No animal proteins are used. My clients produce bulk farm feeds for dairy cows, beef, sheep, pigs and poultry and bagged smallholder feeds for a complete range of animals, specialising in horses, poultry, pigs, sheep, cattle, goats, camelids and rabbits.

Services to customers include full dairy costings, computerised ration formulation, forage analysis and specialist advice. A team of qualified animal nutritionists is available to advise our customers and ensure that our products continue to be the best that money can buy.
